When in a career transition, I worked with several placement companies. Tony was the only one who offered a personal relationship and always put my interests first. That personal relationship we built over five years has continued to this day. Tony took the stress out of my transition by providing valuable advice throughout the process. His professionalism and personal approach are just two of the reasons I continue to use him today and can confidently recommend his services.

A career transition can be quite stressful. Having someone with experience to guide you through the transition is absolutely necessary. Since 2003, I have relied upon Tony’s advice and guidance on many occasions to help me make the best decisions possible for my career and family. I have and would continue to recommend Tony’s services to anyone in a career transition.

  • Shaun Quinlan

I initially started working with Tony five years after having transitioned out of active duty into a job with Campbell Soup Company that I was initially placed into via another JMO recruiting firm. Most traditional JMO placement firms will provide you the opportunity to interview with a few companies, and once placed, have little if any contact with you for the rest of your professional career. The benefit you will get from working with Tony is that not only will he assist in your initial job placement, but he will also act as a lifetime resource for future career opportunities should the situation arise - something that you will not find with the other JMO firms.

  • Arron Yount

I have worked closely with Tony over the past seven years. During that time I have called on him to discuss my career progression, or simply to talk about issues I was facing at work. As a career coach, he has always been there to help me work through some difficult choices I have been faced with. Without hesitation, I endorse him and the services he provides. I think there are certain times in everyone’s career when they need someone like Tony to listen and provide an objective view to help guide them.

  • Jon Perkins

Jon PerkinsAlmost four years ago, I experienced the transition from the Navy to the civilian world from outside of the continental U.S. Beyond the Family Service Center's efforts, I would have greatly appreciated the efforts of any entity to focus my attention to the relevant items and tactics to be efficient and effective in my job search.  Advance Career Technology's (ACT) STAR program will cover these items in detail.

  • Jeff Enck

Jeff EnckI have been working with Tony since 2003. Over the last six years, I have sought his guidance often and his advice has been right on the money. He has been a mentor and friend. His program is the best investment you can make in yourself and your career!

Jeff EnckThe transition from military to civilian life can be a daunting and overwhelming event. Tony Sindoni made my experience manageable by coaching me through the process. • Mike Opdenaker

Mike OpdenakerI was attracted to ACT and Tony because he looked at my transition from a much different perspective than all the other recruiting firms. Tony was interested in my professional development from day one. While other firms were interested in finding me a job, he was committed to helping me find a career path that would be challenging and rewarding. When we get out, we don't know what we don't know; Tony does!

  • Lisa Gerard

Lisa GerardTony is a master at building careers. After separating from the Army I spent a couple years in financial sales and then surgical sales. I was recalled back into the Army for six months and when I returned home, he helped me realize that sales wasn’t my home, operations was. The relationships that Tony has fostered throughout his career were the lifeblood to enhancing mine. He is a trusted partner in the corporate talent search and if you think it’s not “who you know”, you’re wrong. You’ll get a great program when you purchase Tony’s Transition package – but the best part is - you get Tony.

  • Carl Bloomfield

Carl BloomfieldI've known Tony for almost 10 years, and he is one of the most genuinely sincere people I know. He truly cares about the people he works with, and he helped make my career transition a positive experience that has put me on the path to reaching all of my professional goals.

  • Jimmy Niosi

When you combine this undertaking with the uncertainty of a career transition in today’s extremely competitive career acquisition climate, it can be somewhat overwhelming. • Kelly Doyle

Tony’s insightful ability to convert my professional experiences into a value proposition for potential employers, personally tailored guidance empowering me to achieve my desired goals and the candor to tell me when to stay put instead of trying to put the square peg in the round hole just because I wanted change. His STAR program is an actionable plan, a roadmap guiding you to success – the place in your life where preparation meets opportunity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Career Transition Programs

What is unique about your STAR Career Transition Programs?

There are quite a few aspects of my STAR training programs that are unique. The Career Transition program is designed to provide more of a refresher on the resume and interview preparation. More time will be devoted to marketing and networking in today. We will also spend more time discussing success strategies for leaders stepping into new opportunities.

What are the Specialty Advisor Forums?

As part of the STAR Programs, we will be joined on portions of our calls by executives from various industries. They will provide an overview of their careers, how they have advanced their careers, and what they look for when they are hiring to build their teams. They will also take the time to answer any questions that the group has.

Listen to a recently recorded Specialty Advisor session now!

Why are we working under the buddy system?

In order to truly take charge of your transition, you are going to need more than 60 to 90 minutes a week to prepare your resume, practice your interview responses, and work on your marketing plan. You will set up a time to talk with you buddy outside of class to review each other’s information as well as conduct mock interviews. This will also provide you an avenue to share your successes and expand your networking activity.

Will you find me a job?

This is probably the question I get more than any other. The intent of this program is to provide you with all the tools and information you need to market yourself and land your own job. After completing this program, you should be prepared to Take Charge of Your own Transition! However, I have been able to assist hundreds of former military officers in gaining employment and I will certainly share any jobs that I am aware of. If, after the completion of this program I am able to place you in a job, I will refund your program costs in full.**

What happens if I get a job offer in the middle of the program?

Congratulations!! That is what this is all about. When you sign up for any of the 5-Point Programs, as part of my service to you, I will be available to discuss your job offer with you whether you get an offer during or after the completion of the program. Sometimes it is nice to have an objective view on the offer presented. And once you accept an offer, there is plenty still to be gained by seeing the program through to completion.

What if I am unable to attend one of the scheduled classes?

While you should make every effort to attend each class, emergencies do pop up. If you are unable to attend, all classes will be recorded and made available to you. You will be able to go back and listen in to pick up any information you may have missed.

Can I just buy a book and learn what I need to know about transitioning?

There are many books out there to access regarding resumes and cover letters, interview basics and how to network. You will even find some that talk about salary and what to expect when you begin a new job. However, you will not find a book or forum tailored for you specifically. This is a program that will help you to avoid some of the mistakes of those who went before you, as well as the chance to speak with Specialty Advisors who share your background. You won’t find that kind of information in a book.

What is a career consultant?

Career consulting is a collaborative and personalized process. We work together to help you explore and identify where you are, clarify where you want to go, and put together a plan to help you reach your professional goals. It can be for individuals in transition, for those needing help with the job search or for people dissatisfied with their current roles.

How does career consulting work?

Career consulting tends to be short term and goal focused. We work together in a variety of formats such as face-to-face, telephone coaching, and via e-mail. We schedule calls in advance; these sessions keep the momentum going and provide the structure to keep the process moving forward and on track. I’ll provide guidance when you need it and help you get focused and unstuck when you hit roadblocks.

How much does career consulting cost?

Each individual comes to a career consultant with a unique set of issues and areas on which they would like to focus. Some people just need an executive resume; others want guidance and clarity on their career aspirations. Contact me for a complimentary consultation. We’ll review your needs and determine a program that works for you.

Am I expected to sign up for one-on-one career consulting at the conclusion of my program?

Absolutely not. I will provide a complimentary career consultation to give you an idea of how career consulting may be a benefit to you, if not now, perhaps as you advance your career. I am there as another resource for you as you begin what I’m sure will be a very successful civilian career.

** Refund will be sent after placement payment is received and guarantee period has expired.
